Graduate Certificates

The credit hours for these certificate programs will convert to a master’s of business degree at the University of Bridgeport. No prerequisites are required. The certificates may be completed in only 12 months.


On Campus, Online, or Hybrid

Learn the fundamentals of Analytics that will advance your future career. The ability to speak the language of analytics and demonstrate competency in this area are skills sought after by employers across all industries. Competencies covered in this program include packing and unpacking large quantities of structured and unstructured data, preparing reports for key decision making based on insights and modeling, and learning how your skills can be leveraged in the marketplace for profitability and growth are in-demand skills.


On Campus or Online

With the constant development of new technologies, there is a need to efficiently collect and store vast amounts of digital data. Students in this program will acquire a set of practical data analytic skills. Additionally, students will develop the necessary skills to extract, analyze, organize and present data in a manner that is useful for organizational decision making. The program will require students to develop a high level of quantitative and technological skills. It utilizes the courses from the undergraduate business core, existing courses from the School of Business, and specialized courses in the area of Business Analytics and Intelligence.


Online

The Project Management certificate program is designed to educate undergraduate students as future practitioners in a field forecasted to have significant growth. Project managers are key players and increasingly vital in the planning and growth of complex businesses in a global world.

Project management skills are essential to a broad range of businesses, including healthcare, medical, engineering, banking and finance, IT, oil and gas, and construction. The outlook for jobs in project management is optimistic and is projected to continue at an above average pace. Through 2027, the Project Management Institute's talent gap analysis by Anderson Economic Group (AEG) reports that the project management-oriented labor force in the above seven referenced project-oriented industry sectors is expected to grow by 33 percent, or nearly 22 million new jobs. By 2027, worldwide employers will need nearly 88 million individuals in project management-oriented roles. Within the United States alone, an average of 210,000 new project management jobs will be added annually.

UB’s online undergraduate Project Management (PM) certificate is composed of three courses, totaling nine credits. Each course is online in an accelerated 7 week format.

Project Management courses:

  • PRST 241: Essentials of Project Management (3 credits)
  • PRST 320: Project Planning and Implementation (3 credits)
  • PRST 325: Leadership in Project Management (3 credits)

All three courses employ real-world case studies and project management simulations that provide experiential learning opportunities. Courses are designed to allow students to engage with scaffolded content ranging from foundational to complex.

Our PM certificate aligns with PMP’s “Talent Triangle” of skills; Technical Project Management, Leadership, and Strategic & Business Management. UB’s PM certificate exceeds the 35 hours of Project Management education that is a prerequisite for the PMP exam.
