University of Bridgeport's Human Services Programs testimonials

Timothy Prince

I came to University of Bridgeport with a mission to be the first college graduate in my family. No matter the challenges that I have faced over these past four years, I will always thank UB for giving me the best college experience that I could’ve asked for. In these past four years, I joined the Student Programming Board, became President of the Gender Sexuality Awareness Club, Captain of United We Step, as well as a student worker in the Center for Student Involvement, and a member of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council. My UB student experiences have made me the successful student leader I am today. I can honestly say that after these four years, UB was the best choice that I could’ve made. Going forward, I vow to always recommend UB as an option to those applying for college and always to be an advocate for this prestigious institution.

UB helped me a great deal by giving me countless opportunities to succeed academically and socially. At UB, I became more of a leader, which helped me with my current job as an English teacher. Through my years at UB, I had the opportunity to meet students of many different backgrounds. My experience with international students motivated me to go on and get a TEFL certificate and begin teaching international students.

UB has given me more than just professional experience. It has given me lifelong friends. Many of the opportunities I was granted during my time there have been the stepping stones for more opportunities since commencement. UB was truly the most fruitful time of my life. UB helped to ground me professionally and set me up to be the successful school counselor and multi-business owner I am today! I’m forever grateful for my experience at UB, and I’ll forever be a Purple Knight! #UBYouKnow!

THANK YOU, UB! The professors, advisors, and staff are a pleasure to work with. After graduating high school in 2006, I went to another university that wasn’t the right fit for me. I began teaching, and one of my student’s parents told me about UB and the ideal program. UB gave me the work-life balance needed to succeed and complete my degree. Although I wasn’t a full-time student or lived on campus, I still was able to be a part of the festivities and student communities.
