A Leading Nutrition School Online

The Nutrition Institute at University of Bridgeport prepares students to become successful healthcare providers.

About the Nutrition Institute

Established in 1977, the Nutrition Institute offers a science-based program for newcomers to the field and healthcare professionals who wish to integrate clinical nutrition into their practice.

The Institute distinguishes itself from other top schools for nutrition in its focus on a functional approach to the prevention and management of diseases. Embedded in the curriculum is the concept of bio-individuality which enables clinicians to be able to provide customized diet and nutrient recommendations that will be effective. This is provided with an evidence-based scientific approach.

The mission of the human nutrition program is to prepare graduates to excel as professionals in the healthcare industry, delivering nutrition counseling and medical nutrition therapy (MNT) by integrating an evidence-based functional approach with biochemical and physiological scientific knowledge to generate nutrition and lifestyle interventions that will promote optimal health of each individual.

The Nutrition Institute provides a sound biochemical and physiological study of nutrition which allows students to understand the complex interrelationships between nutrition and health.
