Campus and Student Services
We’re more than just a university
Your success is our mission, and we offer you support to help you reach your goals. At UB, professors know their students by name, and our uplifting, supportive culture ensures you never feel like a number.
Academic Advising Center
The Academic Advising Center staff will support you in developing an academic program consistent with your goals and natural strengths. The center fosters the skills necessary to make informed decisions about your college career, professional prospects, and personal development through one-on-one advising, educational workshops, outreach, and working collaboratively with faculty and other on-campus resources.
Through tutoring, workshops, and study groups, we help you develop effective study strategies and critical thinking skills — preparing you to be a successful and active learner.
Tutoring is offered in:
- Computer Science
Counseling Services provides a safe, confidential, and supportive environment designed to promote personal growth and emotional well-being. These services enhance students’ ability to benefit from the University environment and academic experience, and provide resources for success in college and life.
Student Health Services offers high-quality student health care for the treatment of acute illnesses and injuries. The center is staffed by a medical director, nurse practitioners, and registered nurses.
Center for Career Development
The Center for Career Development creates structured career development plans and outlines tools and resources for your career success, including an online employment platform to connect you with jobs and internship opportunities.
Your safety is of utmost importance. The University has received the Jeanne Clery Campus Safety Award for adopting technology and other initiatives to safeguard our students 24 hours a day.
LiveSafe is the official UB security and information app for students, faculty, and staff, available for Android and iPhone devices. The Campus Security Department is also responsible for providing the following support services:
- Issuing ID access cards to students, faculty, and staff to ensure safe and secure entrance to all buildings on campus
- Providing personal safety (walking) escorts on campus
