The Bachelor of Arts degree is awarded in Mass Communication, with concentrations in Journalism, Communication Studies, International Communication, Advertising, Sports Communication, and Public Relations. The Program includes a variety of course offerings in New Media.
The Mass Communication Program offers students an interdisciplinary foundation in the basic theory and skills necessary to become media practitioners and more informed media consumers.
Students have the opportunity to pursue internships and independent projects that allow them to have real world experience in the mass media professions. Graduates of this program have gone on to a variety of careers in the media field, including those in advertising, corporate communication, public relations, journalism, and broadcasting. Students interested in graduate studies have also advanced to graduate schools across the country.

Attend this premiere academic event to learn about the diverse array of research undertaken by faculty and assisted by students. Poster presentations will begin the day, followed by a keynote address, “Beyond the Scholarship of Discovery–Opportunities for Academic Research,” delivered by featured speaker Donald H. Sebastian, Ph.D. Further discussion and awards will round out the afternoon.

Join us for a lecture in Spanish by UB’s own Miguel Arroyo and Brandon LaFavor. The presentation will introduce you to South America’s geography, demographics, economics and culture. There will be headphones available so students may listen to the English translation as Miguel and Brandon give their presentation in Spanish. We will also have a special guest, Ilene Tillman from Academic Programs International (API) to talk about study opportunities in South America.
