The Human Resource Administration concentration of the Bachelor of Science in Professional Studies degree will help the student cultivate a work environment that steers the organization toward its objective. The areas of employee relations, recruitment, staffing, benefits, outsourcing and safety will be explored to improve the work experience for all employees.
The Human Resource Administration concentration will prepare graduates to:
- Evaluate the effectiveness of recruiting methods and the validity of various selection procedures.
- Design and execute a training project using the appropriate theories and facilitation skills.
- Design competitive pay structures and performance-based incentive systems.
- Explain employee and employer rights and obligations in a collective bargaining situation.
- Design human resource policies and practice that comply with labor and employment legislation and regulations.
Online courses follow an accelerated 8-week format. Courses are asynchronous; accessible anytime from anywhere. All students are required to participate in an online orientation prior to the beginning of the program. During the orientation, students learn to navigate the Canvas course learning system, to utilize strategies for becoming a successful online learner, and to access other University resources. University Core Curriculum (42 credits)

General Electives (33 credits)
Select courses that expand your field of study and provide depth in a particular discipline. The General Electives allow for transferring a multi-disciplinary number of credits from other schools, while providing opportunity to customize your learning experience.
The Professional Studies program is accelerated with multiple options for transfer of credits; prior learning through work experience, military service and competency exams.
The maximum of 66 credits may be transferred in from an accredited two-year school and 90 credits from an accredited four year school.
