Fall 2016

James Accuosti

James Accuosti

James Accuosti received his Bachelor’s in Computer Science from Sacred Heart University in 2006. He worked as a support technician in an urban school system for several years during which he earned his Master’s in Technology Management from UB (2015). Shortly thereafter, he assumed his current job as an IT manager for a private school in Waterbury CT. During his career, James developed extensive experience in educational and classroom technology support and found he enjoys optimizing IT layouts for the best cost and efficiency. He also holds CompTIA® A+ and Network+ certificates. While at UB, James developed a love for research which he will use for the Ph.D. program in Technology Management this fall. When not studying or working, James enjoys dance and spending time with family.

Israel Hersh

Israel Hersh

Israel Hersh holds a M.Sc. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Bridgeport and B.Sc.E.E. from Tel-Aviv University. He started his professional career at T-Bar Inc, a data communication equipment company, in hardware and software development and managerial roles. In 1984, Israel Hersh joined Executone Information Systems, a telecommunication equipment company servicing small and medium size business in North America. From 1984 to 1994 he was the Director of Software Development of the PBX and voice mail product lines. From 1994 to 1997 he was the Vice President of Software Development of all products and from 1997 to 2000 Israel was the Vice President of Engineering and CTO. Israel joined IPC Systems in 2001 as VP of Software Development responsible for the product development and maintenance of the Voice Trading systems. In 2008, Israel became the SVP of R&D responsible for designing, building, testing and supporting all the IPC’s products and services. In 2013 , Israel became SVP of R&D and Product Management responsible for all the IPC’s product aspects including pricing, sales training and product definition. In 2015, Israel started PIRL, LLC a consulting firm enabling companies to sell and deploy products in the financial markets. He is now also pursuing his Ph.D. in Technology Management. In his free time, he likes to spend time with his family, play soccer and do long distance running.

James A. Marquis

James A. Marquis

In 1968, Mr. Marquis earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Bridgeport. In 1969, Mr. Marquis attended the University of Bridgeport in its Master of Science and Electrical Engineering Program. In 1974, Mr. Marquis graduated from the University of Connecticut with a Master’s in Business Administration. While attending the University of Bridgeport, Mr. Marquis worked full time as a Staff Engineer with Barlow Controls, Inc. of Stamford, Connecticut, and Gorn Electric of Stamford, Connecticut. At the time of his graduation from the University of Bridgeport, Mr. Marquis was the Engineering Manager at Gorn Electric. From late 1968 to early 1971, Mr. Marquis was employed by Mosler Research as its Manager of Advanced Product Development. In March of 1971, Mr. Marquis joined William Kimbell at KimchuK Incorporated and established the Electronic Division of KimchuK. The primary purpose of the Electronic Division was the establishment of Product Design and Development and Contract Manufacturing. Beginning in 1971, Mr. Marquis has been employed as the Vice President of the Electronic Division of KimchuK Incorporated and has managed that operation from a start-up operation. In 2005 Mr. Marquis was made President of KimchuK, Inc. In 2011, he was awarded the Cecil J. Previdi Entrepreneur of the Year Award by the Greater Danbury Chamber of Commerce and the City of Danbury. Mr. Marquis is married to Attorney Linda A. Marquis and has three children with the ages ranging from 51 years old to 32 years old. He has several patents and patents pending in a wide variety of technical areas. Among sporting activities that Mr. Marquis enjoys are golf, antique autos, scuba diving, flying, snow-mobiling, fishing and hunting. In the area of flying, Mr. Marquis is a private, instrument rated, single- and multi-engine land and single-engine sea rated pilot.

Luja Shrestha

Luja Shrestha

Luja Shrestha received his undergraduate degree in Electronics Engineering. He spent three years in systems programming before joining the MS in Technology Management at the University of Bridgeport. He graduated in 2010 and has since been working for Avon Products, Inc. in Enterprise Data Protection and Availability. He has held multiple positions in IT over the past twelve years, and excels in having a holistic approach in problem solving and team management. His professional certifications include PMP, Six Sigma Green Belt, and ITIL. His research interests include IT Governance, Business Process Reengineering, and Strategic Investment Decision Making.

Felipe Zapata

Felipe Zapata

Felipe Zapata received his Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Physics at the National University of Colombia (2006), his Graduate Diploma in Innovation Management at Pontificia Bolivariana University (2009) and his M.Eng. in Engineering Management at the National University of Colombia (2014). Felipe has worked with interdisciplinary teams to develop industrial and scientific instrumentation, biomedical equipment and hardware. Since 2009, he is a member of the Industrial Design Faculty in the School of Architecture and Design at Pontificia Bolivariana University, Colombia. His academic interest topics include: design, digital manufacturing, generative and algorithmic design, innovation and entrepreneurship. Felipe also has worked as a private consultant in digital marketing and innovation processes, and is pursuing his Ph.D. in Technology Management as a Fulbright Program Grantee, starting 2016. He loves riding his bicycle, a good book, traveling and enjoys exploring digital painting.

Olumide Adebayo

Olumide Adebayo

Olumide Adebayo has 15+ years of enterprise-level system development and operations experience ranging from hands-on development to high level team management. He has a special eye for fault-tolerance and scalable architecture. Olumide obtained both his Bachelor’s in Computer Science and Master’s in Technology Management from the University of Bridgeport and believes so much in the quality of education at the school that he’s decided to pursue his Ph.D. in Technology Management here as well. After years of working in the Affiliate Marketing space, he recently shifted focus to Big Data Analytics with special interest in data sanity and unification.

Jeff London

Jeff London

Mr. Jeff London is a seasoned professional with over 20 years of experience in systems engineering and business development. He also served in the United States Air Force for 11 years as an avionics technician for combat aircrafts. Mr. London has acquired and successfully applied broad knowledge of the “systems approach” for designing and managing large-scale engineering systems throughout the life cycle, while employed at various U.S. Department of Defense contractors such as Raytheon Company, Lockheed Martin, and SRI International. Jeff is currently Vice President of Engineering for Systems Modeling & Simulation Inc., a small IT company for which he is engaged in systems engineering business development activities. His leadership skills and innovative approach to problem-solving have been instrumental in building highly cross-functional teams for tackling systemic organizational or technical issues. Mr. London graduated from Tennessee State University with a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Mathematics. He also has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from LaSalle University and a Master of Science (M.S.) in Systems Engineering from George Washington University.

Ozden Tozanli

Ozden Tozanli

Ozden Tozanli received her B.S. degree in Industrial Engineering with honors from Istanbul Kultur University in 2011 and her M.S. degree in Industrial Engineering in 2013 from Galatasaray University in Turkey. During her B.S. study program, she was granted a European Student Exchange program (ERASMUS) scholarship via the European Union which provided her with the opportunity to study in Viadrina European University in Germany. She has also received a minor in Computer Engineering from Istanbul Kultur University in 2011, and the Oracle Database 12c Developer Certified Associate Certificate from New York University in 2015. She has over four years of experience in academia and various industrial sectors such as banking, manufacturing, and logistics in a number of leading companies in Turkey, where she gained experience in the areas of marketing, purchasing, production planning, and logistics. Most recently, she has worked in the Department of Industrial Engineering at Istanbul Kultur University as a research and teaching assistant, teaching courses, lecturing practical and laboratory sessions, and managing the Computer Integrated Manufacturing Laboratory. She published four international conference papers in the areas of Supply Chain Management, Mathematical Modelling, and Optimization.

Ellen Belitzky

Ellen Belitzky

Ellen Belitzky has nearly 30 years professional experience in information technology and services. Roles have included senior technical leadership, IT architecture, service design and implementation, project, program, and portfolio management, process and quality management, PMO leadership, and information & analytics delivery management.

Ms. Belitzky was graduated from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania with a BS in Economics concentrating in decision sciences and marketing. At Penn, she sub-matriculated to earn a MS in Education focused on educational management and organizational psychology with emphasis on how adults learn new technology. Additionally, Ms. Belitzky completed her MBA from the University of Connecticut.

Professional affiliations include certifications from the Project Management Institute (PMP) and American Society for Quality (CMQ/OE). Industry experience includes consumer products, banking, government, insurance, health care, and not-for-profit sectors. Current research interests are IT Governance, Process Improvement, Quality Management, Delivering Information & Analytics Programs, Agile Project Management, Product Lifecycle Management.

Gazi Murat Duman

Gazi Murat Duman

Gazi Murat Duman received a BSc. in Industrial Engineering (2005) in Yildiz Technical University, an MBA degree from Sakarya University (2007) in Turkey and worked as an operations specialist and analyst in one of the biggest 3PL companies in Istanbul, Turkey. He got a MSc. in Information Technology from Southern New Hampshire University (2010). His recent work experience in industry for the past six years includes analyzing and designing logistics and supply chain operations and consulting, testing and implementing logistics management and asset management systems. His current fields of interest are emerging technologies in supply chain and logistics management and decision support systems.

John Jagtiani

John Jagtiani

Mr. Jagtiani is an experienced business leader twenty-five years of professional experience. He specializes in cross-industry project delivery and management, solutions architecture, CRM strategy & implementation, sales methodology and enablement, management consulting, development of global consulting organizations, multi-shore / Offshore capability build and management, training development and delivery, contract negotiations and vendor management. During his career, Mr. Jagtiani has held several leadership positions in organizations including IBM, PepsiCo, Accenture, and Marsh & McLennan. In addition, he has also been involved with several entrepreneurial initiatives over the years. Most recently, Mr. Jagtiani developed Marsh’s Global PMO capability as the Global Head of Program Management and Governance. Mr. Jagtiani earned his Bachelors in Computer Science and Economics from Rutgers University and MBA in Marketing from Hofstra University.

Dan Tenney

Dan Tenney

Dan has over 35 years of experience in business, having held Senior level positions in quality and technical capacities for the last 20+ years. Half his career was spent in the food industry, the other half in filtration science, working for globally-respected companies that included H.J.Heinz Co. and 3M Co., along with holding principal positions in a small entrepreneurial company and a mid -sized filtration company. He is an ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, a Certified Toast Master Presenter, a 3M Black Belt trained Green Belt Coach, and has various teaching and consultation experiences such as an Adjunct Professor in the University of Bridgeport’s MS TCMG program, a UB Industrial Advisory Board Member, a Leadership and Diversity Trainer at 3M, 3M Business Conduct Contact, and co-authored a Technical Education Paper at the 2014 ASEE Conference where he also provided chairing assistance. Dan’s experience and functional leadership has supported his continual participation on several top-level company steering committees over the last 23 years. Dan received his B.A. Degree in Environmental Science from Eastern Connecticut State University and an MBA in Operations from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Brian Vo

Brian Vo

Brian Vo received a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Technology at the East Carolina University (1995), a M.S. in Technology Management at the Stevens Institute of Technology (1997), a M.S. in Industrial Engineering at the University of New Haven (2005), and a M.S. in Software Engineering at the Fairfield University (2012). He also has ASQ Black Belt and Covidien Black Belt Certifications. He is currently working at Aptar Corporation as an Advanced Planning Quality Manager. Prior to that, he worked at Covidien (former Tyco Healthcare) for 13 years as a Quality Engineer, Sr. Quality Engineer, and Principle Quality Engineer. Prior to that, he served in the United States Army, as a Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical Specialist. Brian has a passion for quality and data analysis. Using designed experiments to improve manufacturing process is a particular strength. He is now pursuing his Ph.D. in Technology Management and is interested in Lean Six Sigma and Continuous Process Improvement. In his free time, he likes to spend time with his family and also is an avid fisherman.
