Bachelor of Science in General Studies Online
Social Science Concentration
The B.S. in General Studies with a concentration in Social Science is offered entirely online. The courses are designed to be learner-centered in terms of scheduling, learning materials, assignments, and interaction between faculty and students and among students. The online interaction encourages thoughtful and well-prepared discussion based on both the student's command of the coursework and his or her personal experience.
Online courses follow an accelerated 8-week format, allowing students to earn their degree at a full-time pace while maintaining a professional work schedule. Courses are asynchronous; accessible anytime from anywhere. Learn more about the learning environment at Online Learning.
All students are required to participate in an online orientation prior to the beginning of the program. During the orientation, students learn to navigate the Blackboard course learning system, to utilize strategies for becoming a successful online learner, and to access other University resources, primarily the Wahlstrom Library.
