Lead today’s students — develop tomorrow’s leaders

Our Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Teacher Leadership program is designed for creative and analytical advocates and educators just like you. You will develop the skills, techniques, and experience to increase access to learning by reducing and removing physical, cognitive, intellectual, and organizational barriers for your students.

Engage in Universal Design for Learning (UDL)

As you earn your M.Ed. in Teacher Leadership, you will learn how to apply the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) framework to create a flexible and meaningful educational experience for diverse students. Using the principles of cognitive neuroscience, UDL focuses on lesson and curriculum design that keeps learning variability in mind — removing barriers by creating versatile, multimodal options for students to learn and express their knowledge. At UB, you will experience the UDL framework firsthand as program faculty model its principles — actively engaging you while demonstrating how to apply UDL to your own teaching practice.

Tailor your studies to your timetable

Our Teacher Leadership program is offered entirely online, so you can use the latest technology to help tackle your educational to-do lists. Throughout your multimedia learning experience, you will earn credits, connect, and correspond with your cohort all through the convenience of your personal computer.

Coursework includes

Course code Course name
EDUC 601 Social Foundations of Education
EDUC 605 Contemporary Issues in Urban Education

The benefits of two universities

The M.Ed. in Teacher Leadership is a joint program offered by Goodwin University and University of Bridgeport. As you learn, you will collaborate with fellow learners from both universities — coming together in a richly diverse virtual learning environment. When you complete your M.Ed., your degree will list both universities.
