My decision to choose University of Bridgeport was primarily influenced by its outstanding academic reputation and its active, diverse community. I wanted a place where I could develop personally and as a leader in addition to learning new things, and UB provided the ideal setting for that.
I also found UB’s proximity to Seaside Park to be quite appealing. I value having access to such a lovely waterfront environment, since I love the water. It offers a serene and motivating setting for my academic pursuits and personal development.
When I think back on my time at UB, I can honestly say that it has been a time of incredible development and change. My experience as a student assistant at the International Center for Students and Scholars (ICSS) improved my ability to solve problems in the real world and helped me develop a strong sense of responsibility. My passion for advocacy, teamwork, and accountability has grown as a result of taking on leadership roles, first as the Student Government Association (SGA) senator for the School of Science and Society and now as I prepare to become SGA president.

I was constantly pushed to venture outside of my comfort zone by these experiences, which helped me build critical leadership, teamwork, and communication abilities that I will use in all of my future undertakings.
My active participation in student leadership and community service has been one of the highlights of my time at UB. I have been able to support and elevate the views of our diverse student body by holding the positions of president and senator in the Student Government Association, as well as secretary of the International Student Society.
I have been genuinely inspired by the entire campus community during my stay at UB. Professors have gone above and beyond to impart their knowledge and provide support when I needed it. The staff has continuously helped me access priceless resources, which have paved the way for my academic and personal success. Above all, the enthusiasm and companionship of my classmates have produced an exciting and motivating atmosphere that has enabled me to thrive despite challenges.
The numerous chances that UB has given me have greatly aided in my growth on both a personal and intellectual level. My position as a student assistant and my participation in cross-cultural organizations have given me the opportunity to gain real-world experience and form enduring connections that continue to shape my growth.
One of the most significant sources of support was a UB academic scholarship. This recognition not only lessened my financial load but also motivated me to improve my academic performance and get more involved on campus. The combination of financial aid, assisting international students through ICSS, and participation in student organizations has significantly improved my time at UB. I’ve been able to build a professional network and acquire skills from these experiences that will help me in the years to come.

I’m excited and determined to keep working with ICSS and get ready to take on the presidency of SGA the following year. My future holds promise thanks to the experience and professional networks I’ve built at UB. In addition to giving me more self-assurance.
Take advantage of every chance UB presents to you by getting involved in campus life, looking for leadership positions, and forming relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Have the courage to step outside of your comfort zone and try new things. The connections you make and the abilities you gain along the way will be the cornerstone of your future success.
In retrospect, my time at UB has been characterized by opportunities, progress, and deep connections. Every experience — both the successes and the setbacks — molded me into the person I am today and equipped me for the future. I truly appreciate every moment of this amazing journey.
