Study Abroad

The Office of Study Abroad, housed within the Heckman Center for the Bridgeport Plan, is dedicated to providing academic credit-bearing international programs that help equip all students with the intercultural competence and leadership skills necessary to succeed in today’s globalized job market.

UB students with study abroad experience have:

  • An increased degree completion rate
  • Improved GPAs upon return from their study abroad experience
  • More competitive applications for graduate schools
  • Reduced time from graduation to job placement
  • Higher starting salaries

Forum on Education Abroad logo

The University of Bridgeport is a member of the Forum on Education Abroad, federally recognized as the standards-setting body for the field of education abroad.

The University of Bridgeport and the Office of Study Abroad are actively monitoring official information and updates on the ongoing Coronavirus disease outbreak (COVID-19) from the Centers for Disease Control, the World Health Organization, and the U.S. Department of State. All Spring and Summer 2020 study abroad programs have been cancelled. All University sponsored travel will be continually assessed as new information becomes available.

We encourage our Faculty, Staff, and Students to continue to follow safe hygiene habits per the Centers for Disease Control and World Health Organization recommendations.

We will continue to update the University of Bridgeport community with any new updates.
