Students are now being educated for job titles that do not yet exist. Ten years ago, there was no such thing as an Autonomous Car Engineer, Nanotechnologist, Health-Care Simulation Educator, Social Media Marketer, 3-D Designer, Data Analytics Specialist, Virtual TV/Film/Theatre Set Specialist, Blockchain Developer or an Augmented Reality Designer.

The University of Bridgeport Opens Bauer Hall Innovation Center

Blue skies, seasonally warm weather and the festivities of UB’s 2019 Homecoming weekend were the backdrops to Saturday’s inaugural ceremony to commence the opening of the Bauer Hall Innovation Center. Alumni, faculty, staff and distinguished guests gathered on the sun-drenched Marina lawn as violinist Joshua Bustamante ‘19 serenaded the crowd for the ribbon cutting event.

Take two for the win

hen are two individuals a strong enough duo to win a challenge that normally requires a team of four or five?  Answer: when the dynamic duo is Isha and Sushant Singh, two graduate students at the University of Bridgeport. The Singhs, who received a monetary award for their project proposal, presented their ideas to Checkmate Digital of New Haven, Connecticut, their Innovation Challenge Weekend client. According to the company’s website, Checkmate Digital, is a product strategy and design partner for B2B companies.

After inventing ways to save lives, three from SASD win at NY International Auto Show

 

Industrial design students from the Shintaro Akatsu School of Design (SASD) won three out of five top prizes at the New York International Auto Show on April 13, 2017 for devices they invented to minimize the risk of vehicle accidents that put passengers and pedestrians in peril.

Industrial Design majors Kristopher Fuji, Diana Inga, and David Jurado won Second, Third and Fourth Place prizes at the “Designs for Safety Competition,” which is held annually at the auto show at the Javits Center and draws more than 1 million viewers.
