DEADLINE APPROACHING: All Students MUST be Vaccinated by October 1, 2021

Dear UB Students,

This past summer, UB announced a comprehensive plan to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 on campus.

Our plan, which is comparable to most schools in our area and is aligned with the Executive Order announced by the White House last week, requires all UB students to have at least the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine by October 1, 2021.

More than two months have passed since this initial announcement and the deadline is quickly approaching! The time to act is NOW as your compliance is 100% mandatory.

Students who fail to have at least the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination AND submit proof of vaccination by October 1, will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including:

  • Being removed from current classes due to non-compliance (refunds will not be provided)
  • Suspended access to UB Wi-Fi networks
  • Prohibited from using campus assets (building access, parking lots, etc.)
  • Inability to register for future classes

For those students who ARE fully vaccinated and HAVE submitted their proof of vaccination, THANK YOU for doing your part to keep our community safe!

If you HAVE been vaccinated, but have NOT provided your vaccination record, please submit a copy of your vaccination records today. (NOTE: you should submit this form even if you have only received your first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine…but keep in mind that you have more work to do!).

Vaccines remain our best defense against the spread of COVID-19 and are readily available. The Pfizer vaccine has received full approval by the United States Food and Drug Administration. These vaccines can be obtained at local pharmacies, mobile clinics, walk-up locations, and more. Find a vaccine provider near you on the State of CT Vaccine Portal.

If you have any questions, I encourage you to visit our Frequently Asked Questions page.

Thank you for your immediate attention to this matter. These steps are critical to keep yourself and the UB community safe.

Sincerely,

Craig Lennon
