Dear UB Faculty & Staff,
As you may have heard there has been a recent increase in COVID-19 cases in an area of Bridgeport.
The UB COVID-19 response team is monitoring the situation and communicating with the city of Bridgeport and local health officials. What we know at the moment is that none of the people involved in these cases live on the UB campus, and they do not include any UB students, faculty or staff at this time.
We continue to monitor the situation throughout the city and on campus to keep everyone as safe as possible as described in our UB COVID-19 plan. There may be a need for us to increase testing on campus, and we are working with our testing partner to prepare. Our COVID-19 response team will continue to share information and updates on MyUB as they become available.
As we begin a long holiday weekend, it’s more important than ever that we all continue to do our part to keep our campus and community healthy and safe. I know how challenging this start to the semester has been, and I appreciate all that you are doing to keep our students and community safe.
While we all want to enjoy the last few days of summer, now is not the time for us to let our guard down. Thank you for continuing to look out for one another and our students.
