As of August 2025, there are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ctinsider.com\/news\/education\/article\/ct-educator-vacancies-districts-hiring-teachers-21026320.php\">2,500 educator vacancies statewide<\/a>, including more than 1,000 paraeducator openings and about 370 vacancies for special education teachers. The Connecticut State Department of Education has also listed 11 shortage certification areas for 2025-26, with top needs in Special Education, Math, Science, and Bilingual\/TESOL.
