Residence Halls Open for Fall Semester
The University of Bridgeport plans to welcome back all residential students during Fall 2021. “This is exciting news,” says Cindy Sanders, the Director of Housing and Residential Life. “It’s been a difficult year, but we are looking forward to everyone joining us on campus for the best year ever.”
The University of Bridgeport campus at Seaside Park is the heart of a vibrant, active community where students can connect with their classmates and gain access to the activities and events that add to the college experience. “Living in the residence halls is economical,” says Craig Lennon, the Dean of Students. “And the best way to create memories that last a lifetime.”
Housing applications for fall semester are now open. Current students who are interested in living on campus can call the Office of Residential Life at 203-576-4228 and will have their housing deposit waived. Students can also access housing applications through their UB Portal.
“UB does have a live-in residency requirement,” says Sanders. “Most full-time undergraduate students are required to live on campus.” Exceptions include students who have completed more than 90 credits of academic work, married students, and those who are over the age of 21. They also include students living at a residence within a 30-mile driving distance from the university with a mother, father, grandmother, grandfather, aunt, uncle, U.S. court-appointed legal guardian, sister, and/or brother over the age of 21. Those students can complete a Move Off-Campus Request on their UB Portal.
UB will continue to have a safely open campus for returning students. Housing prices for the upcoming school year are still pending and should be available in the next few weeks. Anyone with questions should call the Office of Residential Life at 203-576-4228. “Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you need anything or if you have questions about this process,” says Sanders. “And welcome to an exciting new UB!”
