2020 NCAA Division II East Regional CANCELED

PLEASE NOTE: On Thursday, March 12, NCAA President Mark Emmert and the Board of Governors canceled the Division I men's and women's 2020 basketball tournaments, as well as all remaining winter and spring NCAA championships. This decision is based on the evolving COVID-19 public health threat, our ability to ensure the events do not contribute to spread of the pandemic, and the impracticality of hosting such events at any time during this academic year given ongoing decisions by other entities.

The top-seeded Purple Knights will face number eight seed Daemen College Wildcats in the first round, when the University of Bridgeport plays host to the 2020 NCAA Division II East Regional, beginning March 14. Game time is 5:00 p.m. This is the first time UB will host an NCAA Men's Basketball Regional on campus.

After winning the East Coast Conference regular season title, UB heads into the NCAA Division II National Championship Tournament with an impressive 24-4 record, earning hosting duties even after falling to St. Thomas Aquinas in the ECC Championship Tournament Final on March 8.

In addition to UB and Daemen College, first-round ECC regional teams include St. Anselm College (NY), Le Moyne College (NY), St. Thomas Aquinas College (NY), Dominican College (NY), Thomas Jefferson University (PA), and Stonehill College (MA). The team that wins three games at UB goes to Evansville Indiana with the seven other regional winners. The two teams left standing from that go to Atlanta for the Final game on April 5.
