UB recognized in several categories by 2020 U.S. News

The University of Bridgeport was recognized by U.S. News & World Report in several categories for the first time in its history in rankings released today.

Aligning with one of our core values of inclusivity and diversity, the University of Bridgeport ranked as the 39th most ethnically diverse national university and ranked as the 119th best national university for top performers on social mobility, a new U.S. News category this year.

“The U.S. News’ rankings underscore the vast array of opportunities that are available to our students from diverse backgrounds. The academic preparation students receive provides a strong foundation for career success and the achievement of their personal and professional goals,” said Laura Skandera Trombley, president of the University of Bridgeport.

The University of Bridgeport also ranked among the top 206 national universities for undergraduate Engineering programs.

This year, the University of Bridgeport also moved from the Best Regional Universities in the North to the Best National Universities category, which is composed of 381 institutions. According to U.S. News, national universities offer a full range of undergraduate majors in addition to master’s and doctoral programs, and emphasize faculty research or award professional practice doctorates.
