Sherri Dente named Director of Technology Transfer

Sherri Dente has been named director of technology transfer and venture creation at the University of Bridgeport.

In her new role, Dente will work on managing the University's CTNEXT grant to grow and expand innovation, entrepreneurship, technology transfer, and commercialization activities for the University and its partner institutions, including Fairfield University, Housatonic Community College, and Norwalk Community College.

The CTNEXT grant will allow the University of Bridgeport and its partners to accelerate technology inventions and startups to build new capabilities at each partner institution, expand its innovation and entrepreneurial capabilities and create potential new jobs and businesses in Connecticut.

Dente received her JD with a concentration in Intellectual Property from Quinnipiac University School of Law and a BS in Industrial and Management Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI).

She is a patent attorney with over 13 years of experience at Wiggin & Dana LLP, General Electric, and RPI.
