UB Gymnast Sasha Tsikhanovich’s Loving Tribute to Mom During Her Last Home Meet

Like mother, like daughter. Inspiration runs deep in Sasha Tiskhanovich ’15, a UB Purple Knight star, whose mother, Natalia Laschenova, is a retired Soviet gymnast. Sasha, who is graduating from the University of Bridgeport this May, treated all who attended UB’s only home meet of the 2015 season (and Sasha’s last!), to a loving tribute to her mom that is now trending throughout UB’s social media.

Take a look at Sasha’s floor routine delivered on Wednesday, March 11, that contributed to the Purple Knights’ posting a season-high team score to defeat the visiting Brown University Bears. Note her smile to mom in the audience after the completion of her carefully-choreographed modification of Natalia’s performance from the 1989 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships:

Watch here the original floor choreography of mom Natalia Laschenova, who also competed in the 1988 Summer Olympics:

Clearly the love runs deep for gymnastics, UB, and each other!
