Associate Director of the University of Bridgeport Nutrition Institute Karen Siclare to speak at screening of Two Angry Moms April 28
Karen Siclare, assistant director of the University of Bridgeport Human Nutrition Institute and who appears as an expert interview in the documentary Two Angry Moms, will host a screening of the film at Stepping Stones Museum at 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 28.
Advance registration is required by calling Stepping Stones at (203) 899-0606, ext. 299, by April 25. The museum is located at 303 West Avenue in Norwalk.
The award-winning documentary tells the story of two mothers’ yearlong crusade to change their children’s school lunch menus while documenting the roles that government, corporate interests, school boards, and parents play in feeding the nation’s children. One third of American students are overweight or obese, putting them at risk for diabetes, heart problems and other illness.
Siclare, a licensed nutritionist who serves on the Ridgefield (CT) School District Wellness Committee, is featured in the film for her professional opinion about children and diet.
The screening is sponsored by Whole Foods Market in Darien and includes a free healthy dinner for children and parents, free childcare for children of walking-age, and lots of fun activities!
