UB to host ‘Religions of the World – What Do We Have in Common?’ on October 7
University of Bridgeport Office of International Student Services will host “Religions of the World – What Do We Have in Common?”, an interfaith discussion on commonalities among religious beliefs and cultural traditions, on Thursday, October 7 at 4:30 p.m.
The event is free and open to the public. It will be held at Mandeville Hall, Jacobson Lecture Room. Refreshments will be provided.
“With students from over 80 countries, cultural awareness and religious sensitivity have become increasingly important to the UB community and to the community at large,” said Yumin Wang, director of International Student Services. “We have invited Dr. Kemal Argon, Dr. Mark K. Setton and Pastor Doug House to speak to us on “Religions of the World – What Do We Have in Common?”
Dr. Argon is a Visiting Assistant Professor of World Religions. Dr. Setton is Associate Professor of World Religions, who specializes in Asian traditions. Pastor House, of the Mount Carmel Congregational Church in Hamden, Connecticut, is an Adjunct Professor of First Year Seminar and Public Speaking at UB.
