Severe floods in Pakistan began in July. Since then, more than 1,600 deaths have been reported and more than 17 million people are affected. Food, water, tents, and medical supplies are desperately needed.

In response to this disaster, UB Muslim Student Association (MSA) and the International Student Services of the Student Affairs Division joined the Bridgeport Islamic Community Center and Masjid Annoor at Bridgeport Council on American Islamic Relations to raise funds to help.

“This event is trying to help people affected by the flooding. People are really in need,” said Omar Abuzaghleh, adviser to the Muslim Student Association. “And getting together at such an event can help us learn more about the country and the culture and how people are surviving after this disaster.”
