Raised in Massachusetts where he received his BFA at Massachusetts College of Art & Design, Yelle continued to earn his MFA at Rhode Island School of Design, and an MA in Arts Administration from New York University. He is a founder of UrbanGlass: New York Center for Contemporary Glass. As the founding Chair of the Product and Furniture Design department at Parsons School of Design, and now the Director of the Shintaro Akatsu School of Design at the University of Bridgeport, (SASD) Yelle is a practicing designer, and a Professional Member of the Industrial Designers Society of America. (IDSA) Recent corporate sponsored projects at SASD include Cascina Bruciata Vineyard, Edamame SRL, Johnson & Johnson, LG Electronics, Sun Products, Venice Projects, and Unilever.
