Dr. Nancy DeJarnette is the Director of the Graduate School of Education. She also serves as Director of the Elementary Education Program and is an Associate Professor at the University of Bridgeport. Dr. DeJarnette graduated from Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA with her EdD in Teaching and Learning and EdS in Instruction. She received her Master's and Bachelor’s degrees from Minnesota State University at Mankato in Elementary Education. Her research interests involve incorporating STEM initiatives into the elementary curriculum as well as improving elementary Literacy instruction. Dr. DeJarnette played a vital role in the creation of the University’s new STEM-On-Wheels program that takes hands-on STEM lessons to local high-needs schools. Dr. DeJarnette has been published in the following journals: The Reading Teacher, Education, Teacher Development, European Journal of STEM Education and The Journal of Education and Culture Studies.
