Dr. Beth P. Skott is an Associate Professor of Sociology and the Chair of the Social Science Program. She advises Social Science students studying Sociology, Criminal Justice, Pre-law, Psychology, and History. She assists in the teaching and oversight of the Criminology track within the Criminal Justice and Human Security program. Dr. Skott is very involved in the University community. She serves as the faculty advisor to Pi Gamma Mu, the international Honor Society for the Social Sciences. She is a member of Phi Kappa Phi, the national honor society, and Sigma Alpha Iota, the honor society for musicians. She also served as Vice president of the Faculty Council for 4 years.

Dr. Skott has recently written a book with Sage Publication on Research Methods for students which has been used at universities across the country.
