This clinical course is ideal for the experienced RDH or recent graduate who currently holds a certificate in local anesthesia and would like a “hands on” refresher of LA techniques under the guidance of experienced clinical faculty.
This course will start with a lecture review of more challenging injections with a emphasis on patient anatomical variants and technique adjustments to improve clinical results. The main focus of this course will be laboratory activities and hands on experience with clinical injections; both traditional local anesthesia techniques and well as the opportunity to use advanced products trending in pain management.
The participant is encouraged to consider specific learning objectives for this course and come prepared to focus on achieving individual goals and accomplishments as well as improve skill confidence and patient outcomes.

The University of Bridgeport Fones School of Dental Hygiene reserves the right to alter dates, times, faculty, location and content and sequence of presentation for unanticipated faculty, student or college situations. - Current license/certification to practice dental hygiene (RDH)
- Local Anesthesia Course Verification or Certificate, acceptable in the State of Connecticut
- Current certification in CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer/Healthcare Provider
- Current malpractice insurance
- Proof of hepatitis B vaccine or titer
Participants will be obligated to participate as a clinical patient. If you are pregnant, nursing, have high blood pressure, medically compromised, or are otherwise unable or unwilling to be a patient you must contact the Fones School of Dental Hygiene prior to the course to discuss accommodations.
Fones School of Dental Hygiene holds the right to cancel the course up to one week before the course. In the event that the course is canceled, registrants will receive a full refund of tuition. Upon receipt of the registration fee and submitted documentation, the participant will be emailed specific course information.
