9th Annual Clinical Educator’s Workshop, Teaching In Touch, In Time in Clinical Education. 


Since 2010, the Annual Fones Clinical Educators Workshop has been held at the University of Bridgeport, Fones School of Dental Hygiene.

This program offers regional educators the opportunity to attend courses focused on educational methodology as well as collaborate with other health science and dental hygiene faculty and administrators.

We invite you to take a breath and be among colleagues and friends as we consider some unique ways to learn and to teach while being mindful of ourselves, our students, and their patients.

Jasmin Haley, MSDH, RDH, CDA, is an expert on HIV/AIDS, an advocate for the opioid epidemic, and crusader for cultural sensitivity in the dental industry. She is the executive producer and creator of the MOMgienists podcast and Beyond the Prophy podcast. She is an adjunct faculty member at Howard Community College and educational consultant for an HIV/AIDS program at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. She is a proud member of the American Academy of Dental Hygiene, National Dental Hygiene Association, American Dental Hygienists’ Association, and American Dental Education Association. Jasmin was recently nationally recognized as a 2018 Sunstar/RDH award recipient.








Claire Jeong, RDH, MS is an entrepreneur, author, educator, researcher, and international speaker. She is the founder of StudentRDH/SmarterDA –The top dental hygiene and assisting exam prep solutions. Through courses, Claire helped tens of thousands of people gain valuable dental knowledge and clinical skills. Her courses are motivating, concise, and brilliant. To her audience’s testimony: “Learning is now additive.” Claire is the pioneer of the WakeUp Memory Technique (WMT)™ that is internationally adopted by professionals/educators/students how to use the brain and remember information efficiently. Her seminars are enlightening, and the audience becomes glued to their seat. She combines this unique technique to all courses she teaches, to maximize the audience’s learning experience.








Marilyn Goulding, RDH, BSc, MOS is the Manager of Global Clinical Research for Dentsply Sirona Preventive. For her Masters’ of Oral Sciences in both Periodontics and Biosurfaces, her thesis was on ultrasonic delivery and substantivity of localized antimicrobials. Marilyn spent 25 years as a dental hygiene Professor with a passion for developing expertise in her students. She has recently completed a series of studies focused on ultrasonic curriculum and resultant student outcomes in Canadian Dental Hygiene programs. Marilyn has 45 years in clinical practice, dental research and education and is now focused on expanding the research connections for Dentsply Sirona Preventive. Her career has been enriched by interaction with the many colleagues she encounters on professional matters in North America and abroad.








Diane Peterson, RDH, MEd is an Academic Relations Manager for Colgate Oral Pharmaceuticals, covering seven states in the Northeast region of the country. She joined Colgate from Vermont Technical College where she was a full-time faculty member. She has nearly thirty years of clinical expertise in the field combining many roles including clinician, educator, advocate, and researcher. She has developed and presented courses to student dental professionals, professional associations, dental societies, and study clubs. Her focus is to provide dental professionals with current scientific research and information to assist them with making active, evidence-based recommendations in their clinical practice. Diane is an active member of the ADHA, ADEA, and Sigma Phi Alpha DH Society.
