Natalia B. Romalis received her MS and the Candidate of Science in the Physical - Mathematical
Sciences degrees from the Voronezh State University, in Russia. She did her post graduate
research at the Latvian Academy of Sciences, and received there a degree of a Doctor of Physical
and Mathematical Sciences. From 1991 to 1994 she taught undergraduate and graduate courses in
Mathematics and Applied Mathematics at Illinois Institute of Technology, in Chicago. She also
conducted her post- doctoral research at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL.
In the fall of 1994 Dr. Natalia B Romalis joined the faculty of the University
of Bridgeport, Connecticut. Presently she is the Head of the
Mathematics Department, and the
Director of the School of Arts and
Sciences.
Her area of research is applications of singular integral equations to the problems of fracture
of inhomogeneous materials. She has published about 100 papers and a book on the topic.
