The
Industrial Design program began in 1949 by Professor Gordon Florian who
taught design in the evening school. In 1955 Professor Emeritus Robert
Redman played a key role in establishing the current University degree program. Over the years many graduates have
become key players in the design and manufacturing world. In addition to the
alumni working in local corporate and consulting design offices, others
have taken positions in all fields of design. Some examples are GM, Chrysler,
United Technologies, Schick, Pitney Bowes, and Lucent Technologies.
Accredited
by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD), the University
of Bridgeport has developed a program that will prepare you for a career
in industrial design.
