Differential Diagnosis I: Eyes, Ears, Nose and Throat

This course presents the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of diseases and conditions related to the head, eyes, ears, nose and throat. Conditions that primarily affect these areas as well as conditions that may refer to this area are presented. The management of these conditions is reviewed. Case studies are presented to aid students in the development of clinical reasoning skills. Prerequiste: PA611, AN525, DX613, DX624.

DIFFERENTIAL DIAGNOSIS 712
Differential Diagnosis II: Viscera

This course presents the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of diseases and conditions affecting the internal organs, to include the cardiovascular system, pulmonary system, gastrointestinal and genitourinary system. This course reviews the concept of how these systems can refer pain to, and affect the functioning of, the neuromusculoskeletal system, and how the neuromusculoskeletal system can affect these systems. The management of diseases and conditions affecting these systems is covered. The laboratory reviews examination procedures related to these areas and presents case studies to assist students in developing clinical reasoning skills. Prerequisites: DX613, AN513, PA622, PH612, DX624.

DIFFERENTIAL DIAGNOSIS D723
Differential Diagnosis III: Neuromusculoskeletal

This course is a presentation of the diseases and conditions affecting the neuromusculo-skeletal system. Disorders affecting the spine, extremities, central and peripheral nervous system are reviewed. Neurological and orthopedic testing are covered as they relate to the differential diagnosis of these systems. Functioning of the human locomotor system and how other systems can affect this is stressed. Prerequisites: DD723, DX612, DX624, PA622.
