Title: Naturopathic Medicine Faculty
Department: College of Naturopathic Medicine
I’ve been teaching Counseling Skills in the Naturopathic Medicine program for the past two years and I love it! The students are bright, compassionate, caring individuals on the leading edge of healthcare. They are trailblazers and I am proud to be part of their journey.
The best part of my experience so far is seeing how far we’ve come in 20 years. When I headed the holistic clinic at a major alternative medicine college on Long Island just a short time ago, conventional medicine was not ready for what natural health care could offer. We knocked on a lot of closed doors, and they stayed closed! But now those doors are open and inviting us in, making student preparation a joy.
I have loved supervising the Mind/Body Clinic of the Health Science Center as well, because I’ve gotten to better know my students and their unique strengths and abilities as they offer tremendous options for healing to their patients.
The most exciting thing about being back in the classroom is being able to have technology at my fingertips.
I chose to teach at UB because of the unique programs on the leading edge of medicine. The faculty are superb, the students exceptional. I feel privileged to be part of the UB team!
