Major: Social Science
The University of Bridgeport became the school of my choice because I loved the enthusiasm I witnessed on my visits to the school, as well as the great financial aid package and scholarship I received once accepted.

My greatest experience has been the support system I have received from my professors and college advisor. It is amazing to have guidence about my studies, my internships and where I’d like to be upon graduation. My advisor and professor Beth Skott has guided and push me to the point that I am able to complete my bachelors degree in three years instead of four.

Being at the University, living on campus and watching how students came out of their shells, did charity drives, hosted events and represented issues they felt strongly about has enabled me to step out of my own shell, be open minded and not afraid to experience new and different things.

From my freshmen year to now I can honestly say that I have grown into a student that is more confident, well-spoken, outgoing, professional and eager to step into the workforce prepared to take on anything thrown in my path.

Being a social science major, I took courses in human services, ethics, psychology, sociology and much more. My course load has taught me to always look outside of the box. It has showed me the path that I would like to begin my career in which is social work.

My desire is to be a part of something bigger than just myself.  The best way to accomplish that is by helping others in need. At the end of the day, college is what you make of it. At the University of Bridgeport we have a great support staff from college advisors, financial advisors and professors to guide us on our path to success. The University provides the means and the opportunity. We just have to be willing to step up and take it.
