Wireless & Mobile Communications (WMC) Laboratory
COMPUTER SCIENCE & ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT

Welcome

Mission The Wireless & Mobile Communications (WMC)Laboratory at the Computer Science & Engineering Department is led by Dr. Khaled Elleithy. The mission of the WMC Laboratory is to advance the state-of-the-art in wireless and mobile communications.

Projects We are currently working on the following projects: 1) QoS of Multi-user communications for Cellular Networks; 2) Bit Error Rate Performance of Multi-user Wireless DS-CDMA receivers; 3) Power-Efficient Wireless CDMA Systems; 4) Fundamental Limits and Optimality of Wireless Mobile Ad Hoc Networks; 5) Power-Efficient Wireless CDMA Systems, 6) Performance Optimization of Multi-user Receivers.

Facilities The WMC Laboratory was established with equipment funds from University of Bridgeport. The main facilities include 12 Desktop PCs, 4 3Com Ethernet client bridges, 3 Cisco access point, 4 3Com firewall, 3 3Com 24 port switch, 2 Allied Telesis 12 port switch , 1 3Com 8 port switch, 1 Intel 16 port switch, 3 Net-gear access point, 14 PCI MCI wireless cards,3 Ericsson Bluetooth devices. The WMC Laboratory is a scalable, reconfigurable system built upon open communications architecture that facilitates both distributed experimentation and distributed simulations.

Team The WMC Laboratory provides an excellent environment for students and faculty members to carry out networking research. Currently two PhD students and several Master students conduct their research using the WMC Laboratory.
