JOB TITLE: Mechanical Engineer

An international supplier of stainless steel kitchen equipment is currently seeking an
experienced Mechanical Engineer, with demonstrated experience in refrigeration design
and manufacturing processes, to develop refrigeration components to accomplish design
specifications provided by others; establish the testing protocol; assist with the
testing to the unit; and develop the completed unit.

Experience and Capabilities:
. Background in new product development and design.
. Ability to read and interpret regulatory compliance rules and apply in new  designs.
. Reviews design drawings and researches information to assist customer in developing
  the required specifications.
. Develop test criteria for refrigeration equipment using knowledge of mechanical
  engineering technology.
. Set-up and conduct tests of complete units and components under operational
  conditions to investigate design proposals for improving equipment performance
  and obtain data for research and development, standardization, and quality control.
. Develop and improve designs of refrigeration systems. Design systems to provide
  maximum customer value and function, including improved economy and safety of
  operation, control of operational performance at optimum costs.  Produce detailed
  electrical and refrigerated schematics.
. Oversee engineering development of fabrication in conformance with applicable codes
  and regulations.
. Provides training and guidance to Project Engineer and Draftsman.
. Troubleshoots manufacturer and performance problems and implement solutions;
  including occasional customer site visits.
. Obtain certifications as required under UL, NSF, Ansul, and NCE.
. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:
Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering and refrigeration design experience required.
Experience in commercial kitchen manufacturing and sheet metal manufacturing design;
engineering economics; sheet metal bend allowances and tolerances, and forming techniques;
cost of manufacturing operations; industry expectations and trends; commercial
refrigeration and wiring; and recognition of design feasibility. Strong mechanical
aptitude, mathematical competence at engineer level, and electricity and refrigeration
expertise is needed. Knowledge of UL, NSF, Ansul, and NCE also required.
