Job Title: Software Design Engineer Requisition # 457 Primary responsibilities include designing and developing new versions of the RealPlayer. Qualifications include a minimum of 5 years of C++ development experience coupled with strong object oriented design skills under a Windows development environment. Implementation experience with COM, DirectShow, ActiveX is required. The successful candidate must be creative, have strong problem solving ability, good verbal and written communications skills, experience with consumer software applications and be looking for a challenging but rewarding role in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Technical degree in Computer Science or Mathematics is required. Essential Functions: % of Time 1. Feature designs for the RealPlayer 15 2. Implementation of software for the RealPlayer 50 3. Fixing of software defects in the RealPlayer 20 4. Interaction with test engineers to identify and fix defects 5 5. Consulting other SDEs of the team 5 6. Write documentation on technical architectures/features 5 Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Minimum: - Demonstrated ability to write and debug C++ code. - Understanding of DirectShow, ActiveX technologies. - Expertise in programming using COM architecture. - Expertise in programming Windows graphical user interface.
