(1-2 years hands on experience) and a B.S. in Computer Science preferred.

Our client in Chesire, CT is the United States' largest distributor of
industrial, medical, and specialty gases and related equipment, safety
supplies and MRO products and services to industrial and commercial markets.
They are seeking an entry level (1-2 years hands on experience) software
engineer. Must be an expert user with visual studio with focus on C++ and
.NET (C# is core, VB and ASP would just be bonuses). This position requires
effective verbal and written communication skills. Duties will entail
develop, validate, maintain software based PC and embedded measurement and
automation systems. Pluses (not essential) are experience with electric
circuits, data acquisition, test instruments, in particular LabVIEW,
labwindows/CVI.  The candidate must be a self starter, think outside the box
and an abstract thinker. The software that the candidate will be working on
is highly important in controlling explosive gases, hardware, pumps,
mixtures, ect. This is not the type of job for someone who wants to sit in a
cubical and write code for an internet site. This position interacts with
electrical engineers and will be involved in all emerging products and
projects. At least a BS in Computer Science is required. This is a unique
opportunity to be part of a relatively new 6 yr old department in a fortune
200 company focused on improving internal manufacturing and analytical
operations as well as developing customer based solutions. The team consists
of 11 (7 electrical engineers and 4 computer science related engineers),
highly charged tight team. Looking for someone who wants a 20 year plus
career.
