Course Description

 

Design and performance prediction of turbines and compressors including axial and radial turbomachinery stages. Simplified models: axisymmetric flow rotating and stationary passages, free vortex theory, blade element design, loss prediction and cooling. Multistage compressor preliminary design, stacking, instability and surge.
