Course
Description
The
application of power diodes and power transistors in motor
starters, and motor speed & torque control. Basic terminal
properties of series, shunt and permanent magnet DC motors.
Rectifiers and DC up/down converters. The role of the thyristor.
Motor dynamic & regenerative braking. Configurations, and
efficiency parameter trade offs.
