Description
Heat
conduction in solids: steady and transient states; finned
surfaces and multidimensional objects; numerical methods through
use of the computer. Free and forced convection from theoretical
and experimental viewpoints for laminar and turbulent flows
in ducts, over flat plates and blunt bodies, through tube
bundles and packed beds. Introduction to the concept of scale
analysis; integral methods and similarity solutions. Film
condensation and boiling. Radiative heat transfer; properties
and shape factors.
