Faculty Research Council

The Faculty Research Council (FRC) is comprised of faculty representatives from the colleges, schools and institutes that comprise the University of Bridgeport. The Council is responsible for awarding funds through the Seed Money Grant Program, establishing the University's Intellectual Property Policy and overseeing the Institutional Review Board.

Seed Money Grant Program

The Seed Money Grant Program has been established to provide funding for initial research, the results of which will be used to develop a grant application to one or more federal, state or private funders.

Approximately 10 awards will be made annually at $5,000 to $10,000 per grant.

Intellectual Property (IP) Policy

The Faculty Research Council is responsible for the development of the University of Bridgeport's Intellectual Property Policy (IP). The purpose of the policy is twofold: (1) to encourage the generation of new knowledge by University researchers, and (2) to facilitate the transfer of useful inventions to society.
