Assistant Director of Marketing Communications
The University of Bridgeport is going through an exciting period of growth and development and is expanding its staff in the Publications Office. The university is seeking an Assistant Director who will report to the Director of Publications and be assigned to the Admissions Office. This position will be responsible for developing admissions publications and other collateral materials to support the undergraduate and graduate programs at the University of Bridgeport. The Assistant Director will coordinate and update the electronic, paper and telecounseling communications.
Specific Responsibilities
- Identify key audiences for prospective students and develop most appropriate ways of connecting them to the University of Bridgeport.
- Determine most effective means of differentiating the University of Bridgeport through the use of various communication vehicles including web, email, interactive tools, print, etc.
- Assist in creation of admissions marketing plans to reach enrollment goals.
- Assist in development of integrated media plans and place all university advertising in local, regional and national media. (i.e. work with advertising agency to co-ordinate.)
- Develop brochures, posters, flyers, post cards and other collateral materials and publications for admissions.
- Develop Powerpoint presentations.
- Manage ordering and maintaining inventory of admissions print materials.
- Interface with and manage relationships with designated vendors.
- Develop effective, collaborative relationships with various University of Bridgeport departments.
- Develop and oversee marketing campaigns.
- Monitor marketing budget and purchase orders.
- Coordinate and update directory placements.
- Manage a variety of marketing, publications projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree and 3 – 4 years of related experience; experience in publications and advertising, experience in project management and working with internal/external clients and vendors. Skilled in developing and meeting aggressive timetables for multiple projects; excellent writing ability and communication skills; strong interpersonal skills. Preferred: experience in higher education communications. Knowledge of electronic desk top publishing and image creating software a plus. Skilled in word processing, spreadsheet and database. Skilled in web and internet marketing and in the use of cutting edge strategies to promote the University.
