Facilities Planning Committee
Vision Statement
The Facilities Planning Committee endeavors to create a framework for future growth and development at the University of Bridgeport. This framework responds to the institution’s mission, goals and programmatic needs by enhancing the physical environment and the facilities of the campus. It evaluates and presents recommendations to the senior administration on elements of campus organization, construction and landscape enhancements. The master plan it creates does not have to be adhered to item-by-item, but serves as a guideline. This guideline is flexible enough to allow for future modifications without making a total assessment each time a new issue is presented. It provides a timeframe and order that best accomplishes the goals of the master plan by looking at both short-range and long-range needs of the campus. When fully implemented, the master plan will provide for the University an attractive campus that promotes intellectual and social interchange between student, faculty, staff and the surrounding community in line with the University’s Strategic Plan.
The Facilities Master Plan will illustrate the spatial needs envisioned for the campus. These improvements, combined with an orderly plan for campus development and future expansion, will provide the University of Bridgeport with the framework required to support its campus growth in an orderly program and within budgetary considerations.
