Completing Paperwork with Career Services

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 is a federal law that protects the privacy of education records of all students enrolled in schools beyond the high school level. Schools are required to maintain that privacy, primarily by restricting release of records and the access provided to those records.

Student employees at the University of Bridgeport are required to signthe FERPA Confidentiality Agreement to ensure that they familiarizethemselves with its provisions and do not violate it.

The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services requires that each individual employed in the United States complete an I-9 Employment Verification form at each place of employment.

Students will need to provide original documents for verification that must include a picture I.D., and another government document such as a Social Security Card or a U.S. Birth Certificate.

International Students are required to bring their original Passport and I-20 for verification.
