Gymnastics Falls to Temple in Season-Opening Meet  

Bridgeport, Conn. -- For the second consecutive season, UB has fallen to Division I Temple University in the season opener for both teams. The Purple Knights finished with a 176.850 score, with the Owls coming in at 181.275.  

On the vault, Temple captured the event 45.925-44.650. Temple’s Lexi Zafferes won the event at 9.55. UB’s Joell Koller finished third at 9.275.  

On the uneven bars, the Owls swept the Purple Knights and won the event 45.275-42.025. Koller was the top Purple Knight at 8.85.  

On the beam, UB posted by a 44.875 while Temple had a score of 45.8. Temple’s Erin Davis won the event at 9.45. Koller was second in the event at 9.3 for UB.  

In the floor exercise, UB won by a 45.3-44.275 score. The team was led by a 9.4 victory from senior Kate Warner, followed by teammate Tori Aarts at 9.375. Temple’s Sarah Liebowitz was third at 9.275.  

UB freshman Sarah Hansen was the top all-around performer at 36.0.
