Gymnastics Picks Up Pair of Victories, Improves to 2-1
West Chester, Pa. -- The UB gymnastics team picked up a pair of victories on Saturday when the team defeated West Chester University and Cortland in a tri-meet at West Chester.
The Purple Knights finished with a total score of 183.150, led by a 46.750 on the beam. Joell Koller posted the top score for the Purple Knights with a 9.6.
UB scored an impressive 46.075 on the floor, led by senior Kate Warner with a mark of 9.55. Freshman Sarah Hansen also performed well as she finished with a 9.45.
Leading the team on the vault was freshman Brittany Coutu with a 9.125, followed by Koller at 9.1. On the uneven bars, freshman Brandi Embrey paced the Purple Knights with a mark of 9.5, winning the event for UB. Koller was also solid with a 9.35.
UB defeated West Chester by a 183.150-177.075 final, while UB downed Cortland as the Dragons finished with a score of 182.500.
