Undergraduate Programs
Introduction The mission of the University of Bridgeport School of Business is to develop effective and responsible leaders for global business, industry and government by offering graduate and undergraduate degree programs that equip graduates with the technical and cultural competences required in an increasingly complex international environment.
Admission A student is admitted to the School of Business through an evaluation of the high school transcript, class rank and SAT scores. The student is expected to demonstrate high potential for analytical reasoning, comprehension and effective written and verbal expression, and capacity for creative thinking. Students transferring from other colleges or universities should have a minimum quality point ratio (QPR) of 2.5.
Prerequisites The University Core Curriculum requires passing the mathematics competency exam or successful taking of Mathematics 105. This competency is also a specific pre-requisite for CAIS 101. The business core requires passing a computer competency exam or taking CAIS 191.
Undergraduate Business Degree Core In their Freshman and Sophomore terms, business students are expected to complete these courses:
- Advanced Business Composition
- Financial Accounting
- Computer Concepts (Basic or Advanced)
- Macro-Economics
- Micro-Economics
- Business Statistics
- Applied Statistics B
- Business Law I
- Managerial Accounting
In their Junior and Senior Years, business students are expected to complete these courses:
- Managerial Finance
- Marketing Principles
- Operations Management
- Intro to Computer Applications and Information System
- Multinational Accounting
- Multinational Economics
