Park City Primary Care Center, Park Avenue, Bridgeport, CT

Every Wednesday afternoon, four student interns under the supervision of Dr. Ritterman
and Dr. Vishvanath provide health care to a medically underserved community.

Preceptorships

UBCNM students are eligible to participate in preceptorships following their fourth semester at the College. Each student is required to complete 144 hours preceptoring in the office of a health care professional. The college has a list of physicians, including N.D.'s, M.D.'s, D.C.'s, and D.O.'s who train naturopathic medical students in their offices. Other sites available over the past semester included Planned Parenthood, Waterbury Hospital Emergency Room, and the Integrative Medical Center at Griffin Hospital.

Community Service

Community service scans a wide range of activities. Naturopathic students speak at community health centers, senior centers, churches, civic groups and the University of Bridgeport's Women's Forum. They participate in Health Fairs in the local area, and launched their own Spring Health Fair here at the Health Center this year. Students are encouraged to participate in all Community activities where health education is the focus.
