General Information

The College of Naturopathic Medicine is an integrated unit of the University of Bridgeport, a private, non-sectarian, comprehensive university. The College's mission is to provide appropriate educational experiences to prepare candidates to become doctors of naturopathic medicine. The College seeks: to teach and search for new knowledge; to educate men and women of personal integrity and social conscience; and to maintain close relationships among faculty, students and community professionals. In keeping with the international focus of the University-wide mission, the College of Naturopathic Medicine emphasizes the importance of understanding the traditional medical systems of the world.

The College has identified the following goals in support of its mission:

1. Provide a comprehensive, full-time education that prepares qualified candidates to become doctors of naturopathic medicine;
2. Produce graduates who will be competent to practice as a portal of entry, primary-care, doctors of naturopathic medicine with the necessary qualities and competencies for the benefit of their patients;
3. Advance naturopathic medicine and its knowledge base through scholarship and research;
   
4. Maintain exemplary out-patient facilities;
   
5. Be an educational resource for doctors of naturopathic medicine, and
6. Offer educational opportunities for the public and other healthcare providers.
