The University of Bridgeport is a private, non-sectarian university serving approximately 3,300 undergraduate and graduate students. The School of Education and Human Resources offers undergraduate programs in Human Services and in Psychology and offers Master's degree programs in areas in Teacher Preparation, Instructional Technology, Agency Counseling and Counseling/Human Resource Development, as well as advanced degrees at the Sixth Year in Education and Doctoral levels in Educational Administration.

Assistant/Associate Professor in Educational Foundations
We have an opening for a full-time tenure-track faculty member whose primary responsibilities will be teaching and advising graduate-level students in the Teacher Preparation Programs in the area of Educational Foundations. We are seeking a candidate whose work focuses on sociological perspectives, historical and philosophical issues, contemporary issues in education, educational policy and law, and school reform. We seek a colleague who has expertise in areas such as qualitative research, social policy analysis, historical research, and/or socio-cultural research in education. While the primary responsibilities will be teaching and advising students in the Master’s and Sixth Year Programs, responsibilities will include advising students in the Doctoral Program as members of their dissertation committees.
Applicants should have a minimum of two years in K-12 schools or experience in an educational agency, experience in working with students with diverse learning and cultural backgrounds, a commitment to working with students in urban schools, and an interest in working with adults making career changes into the field of education. The candidate should provide evidence of successful teaching experience and the potential for scholarly productivity. All applicants must have an earned doctorate in education or a closely related field relevant to the position responsibilities in educational foundations.
